National Visiting Committee

 

National Visiting Committee - "To Advise, Assess, and Assist."

"Following the award for large projects...the NSF program staff will work with the [recipient] to select a national Visiting Committee (NVC), a project-specific external board. The NVC is expected to help ensure the project's success by advising the project's staff, assessing the project plans and progress through reports to the project staff and NSF, and enhancing the dissemination of project results..." - from NSF's Division of Undergraduate Education's (DUE) Program Announcement and Guidelines MATE's National Visiting Committee consists of individuals who have distinguished themselves as national leaders in science, marine technology, education, and labor relations. These individuals have provided the MATE Center with invaluable advice and assistance through their review of the MATE Center's first year of existence.
