Erica Moulton

Faculty Development and Summer Institute Coordinator

Academic Background:
Erica received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of West Florida and her Master’s degree in Conservation Education from Prescott College.

Current Position:Erica Moulton is currently the Faculty Development and Summer Institute Coordinator for the MATE Center as well as the Workforce Survey Coordinator for the assessment on
the Ocean Science, Technology and Operations Workforce Study being conducted by MATE and co-sponsored by MTS.  Mrs. Moulton hosts and coordinates the MATE Center’s Florida Regional ROV Competition as well as providing key support for the Southeast Regional ROV Competition and the MATE International ROV Competition. In addition, Mrs. Moulton conducts “ROV in a Bag” outreach education, funded in part by the MTS-ROV Committee.

Related Experience: Mrs. Moulton was a pro­gram biologist for 10 years at Hillsborough Community College where she designed, developed, and implement­ed continuing education and non-credit environmental education courses. During her tenure at HCC Erica was one of a team of four scientists who placed an aquaculture experiment onboard Space Shuttle Mission STS 95.  Erica is a Master scuba diver as well as an AAUS Certified Diver and holds current certifications in Nitrox diving, Rescue diving and Underwater Communication systems.  Erica is a current member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and maintains close working relationships with organizations she has worked for including The Florida Aquarium, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Mote Marine Laboratory.
