For students, the MATE Center provides information on Marine Science & Technology Programs across the nation, ranging from certificate programs to Associate degree, undergraduate, and graduate level programs. The Center also provides students with opportunities for hands-on, Internship-based experience in a variety of marine technical fields, both at sea and on shore. Through its Summer Institutes, the Center provides opportunities for faculty to interact with employers and working technicians, giving them a better understanding of the type of work marine technicians do and exposing them to the technologies - and applications of those technologies - used in the marine environment. By providing this insight into the world of marine technology, the MATE Center seeks to empower faculty to produce interdisciplinary, technology-rich curriculum that addresses real-world problems encountered in the marine field. Several faculty currently working with the MATE Center to produce this curriculum and improve the education and training of the marine technical workforce are highlighted in Meet MATE Faculty. In addition to technology-rich Curriculum Materials, this section of the MATE Center web site also includes a list of materials - including journals, books, CD-ROMs, and web sites - that can enhance faculty teaching methods and students' learning experience. If you know of other Faculty Resources not included here, please send your suggestions to the MATE Center at info@marinetech.org.
