Requirements:
This position may require work in hot, humid, wet and outdoor conditions. Weekend and holiday work will be a large component of this position, and occasional evening work may be required. The ability to lift 50 pounds, bend over, climb, swim and perform physical labor is required. Candidate is also required to have a valid driver’s license.
Required: Completion of a two-year degree in one of the natural sciences such as biology, aquaculture, fisheries management or similar area of study. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in captive fish, reptile, amphibian or bird care. Ideal candidates will have completed a minimum of a 3 month internship/volunteer position (40 hours/week) or equivalent experience in the husbandry/animal care department of an AZA-accredited institution. Applicants must be certified by a nationally recognized SCUBA agency to a minimum of open water certification.
