The Oregon Coast Aquarium is currently accepting applications for the full-time, salaried Volunteer Coordinator position in the Education and Volunteer Services Department.
The Volunteer Coordinator works in conjunction with the Volunteer Manager to develop and implement the volunteer program. Responsibilities include supporting volunteer training, developing and implementing continuing education, and organizing volunteer recognition. This position is responsible for the administrative aspects of the volunteer program to include - maintaining the Volgistics database, meeting planning and preparation, and general administrative duties.
Experience with a volunteer program required. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication, as well as organizational skills, are required. Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in human resources, education or a closely related field is required. Experience in a position related to volunteer and/or interpretive programs in a museum, zoo or aquarium is preferred. Ability to speak Spanish desirable, but not required.
