EPA Region 7, will have paid internship opportunities available for students for the summer of 2015 located in the Regional Headquarters Office in Lenexa, Kansas, and the Science and Technology Center in Kansas City, Kansas. These internships are designed to provide practical work experience and allow student interns to work directly with skilled EPA employees on meaningful environmental issues. Some benefits of the program include:
· Gaining career exploration early in the student’s academic studies.
· Exposure to new, emerging occupations and professions.
· Working with experts in the field while enhancing the students’ work experience.
· Understanding the social and professional expectations in today’s work culture.
Opportunities are available in a variety areas such as: Environmental Studies, Life Science, Engineering, Physical Science, Legal or Analytical and Administrative. Students will perform a wide range of basic, environmental, technical, or analytical and administrative duties to support environmental protection specialists, scientists, engineers, attorneys or other professionals. Students will be allowed to work during the summer as long as they are a current student or a student accepted for enrollment for the following semester.
