Industry partners are key participants, and the primary beneficiaries, in the MATE Center Program. Commercial companies representing all aspects of the marine workforce (fisheries, offshore construction, defense, instrumentation, survey, shipbuilding, and recreation) have partnered with the MATE Center to help prepare America's workforce for ocean-related occupations. Industry partners provide lab, field, or facility introductions to students, evaluate community college students for internships/work-study educational opportunities, provide resources for educational presentations on the latest advances in marine equipment or operations, participate in identifying industry employment positions, and support activities that combine educational, industrial, and government interests.
