2010 REU at Bigelow Laboratory -- Gulf of Maine and the World Ocean

Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences in West Boothbay Harbor, Maine is accepting applications for its NSF supported summer research program, Gulf of Maine and the World Ocean. Students studying in fields related to the chemistry of climate change, environmental biology of marine phytoplankton, bacteria and viruses, genome evolution in the algae, and the ecology, physiology and sensory biology of marine invertebrates are invited to apply.

This is an excellent opportunity for undergrads to gain valuable research experience while spending the summer in the lab and field. Eight students will be selected and paired with a scientist/mentor to conduct independent research. A stipend, housing, and food and supplies allowance are provided.
