MTS ROV Committee Scholarship Program

The Marine Technology Society ROV Committee is offering scholarships specifically for students who are/have been members of MATE ROV competition teams OR are currently attending a MATE partner institution. Two scholarships are available – one for $3,000 and one for $2,000.

Application criteria:

• Must be an MTS student member in good standing (membership fee is $25; see www.mtsociety.org for information on how to join)
• Must be attending a high school or college that is a MATE educational partner OR is/has been a member of a team participating in a MATE/MTS ROV Committee regional or national competition;
• Can be a full or part time student but must also work full or part time;
• Must have a 2.75 GPA or higher (based on a 4.0 scale);

Application process – submit the following by April 15:

• One-page essay on your interest in ROVs
• Biography or resume
• One letter of recommendation from a current teacher or counselor
• Names and contact information of three references (must be references other than MATE staff)
• Current official transcript
