4th Annual
ROV Competition for
High School & College Students

From the Depths of the Oceans
to the
Far Reaches of Outer Space
being held

June 17-19, 2005
Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory @ NASA Johnson Space Center
Houston, Texas

The MATE Center and the MTS ROV Committee are partnering with the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory at NASA's Johnson Space Center Sonny Carter Training to organize our fourth annual ROV design and building competition for high school and college students. The goals of the competition are to increase the awareness of marine technical fields and to encourage students to participate in them, while also helping students develop the skills they will need for a career in marine technology. Another important goal is to facilitate connections between students and educators and professionals working in the marine field.

Employers - industry, businesses, research institutions, government agencies, professional societies, and foundations - are encouraged to become involved in the event by donating funds, equipment, supplies, facilities, technical expertise, to time to help support the competing schools and colleges.

For information on how you can get involved with this year's event, contact Jill Zande at (831) 646-3082 or jzande@marinetech.org.
