Kestrel Educational Adventures, a popular provider of science education programs rooted in discovery of the natural world, seeks an experienced Seasonal Ecology Program Instructor to craft and teach school programs during the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both education and science.
As an Instructor you will combine progressive teaching methods with strong naturalist skills in marine, aquatic, and terrestrial environments. With these skills you will provide programs that are rich, authentic, and meaningful for our school partners on and around Cape Ann this school year.
- Position: Seasonal Ecology Program Instructor
- Dates: February 14- June 16
- Hours Per Week: Approximately 15-30
- Type: Seasonal Per Diem
- Restriction: Candidate must work the entire season.
Requirements:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Collaborate with other education staff to custom -build experiential science programs for schools
• Develop and present indoor and outdoor ecology programs for students in preschool through middle school, and occasional high school programs, including after-school series programs
• Cultivate students’ science process skills and ecological literacy
• Travel to school sites to instruct programs
• Participate in maintaining the Get Outside Center as a functioning and welcoming facility, including routine organizing, and occasional animal care or simple maintenance tasks, and welcoming guests to the center
