Description:
A non-profit, residential, environmental educational organization offering marine science programs for 10-17 year olds in a summer camp setting and to visiting elementary, middle, secondary, college, and adult groups throughout the school year. Full time and Seasonal employment: Marine Science Instructor positions are full time. Internship positions are available throughout the year, and internship credit is available. Staff lead interpretive programs in tropical marine science for campers/visiting schools and participate in hospitality services required to run a residential facility. Extensive training: science seminars; American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding, Oxygen Administration, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer; skin diving leadership and Rescue Diver (for currently certified SCUBA divers only, during our summer program); seamanship and boat handling; camp life; and teaching techniques.
Requirements:
Marine Science Instructor: Recent college graduate in marine science, the biological sciences, or a related field. All applicants must be strong swimmers. Teaching experience and SCUBA certification required. Marine Science Education Interns: Recent college graduate of or working towards a college degree (must have completed junior year) in marine science, the biological sciences, or a related field. Current college students may obtain credit through an internship. All applicants must be strong swimmers. Teaching experience and SCUBA certification preferred.
