Description:
Morgan State University’s Patuxent Environmental and Aquatic Research Laboratory (PEARL) is seeking an individual to develop a Center for Environmental Education and Research (CEER). The Center will assist the School of Education and Urban Studies to develop curriculum and maintain programs in environmental education. CEER will have a commitment to environmental education research and conducting assessment and evaluation. The Center will be a national leader in the scholarship of environmental teaching and learning, and provide formal and informal environmental education. An important component of CEER will be community outreach and information dissemination.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Salary is negotiable within a specified range.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. in Science or Environmental Education.

Experience developing, delivering, and evaluating environmental education programs.
-
Established record of scholarly work/publications in science/environmental education.
-
Demonstrated success in securing external funding.
PREFERRED QUALITIFICATIONS
-
Experience teaching in a university setting.
-
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work closely and collaboratively with scientists and people from a variety of professional backgrounds.

Experience mentoring/advising undergraduate and graduate students.

Experience developing STEM curriculum.

Experience teaching science/environmental science in K-12 schools.

Experience teaching underrepresented students.

Demonstrated leadership at the state and national level in science/environmental education.
