Description:
Utilized compound microscope to analyze various strains of bacteria and fungi. • Prepared cell cultures and streak plates prior to each lab. • Applied gram stains and acid fast to help determine the species. • Extensively sampled species in the field for subsequent data analysis in the lab. • Used real LA coastal situations to crunch the data statistically required for the project at hand in BioStats via the excellent program SYSTAT. • Ran many extraction separations including TLC, Recrystallization, Column, distillation and seperatory funnel. • Performed experiments including Diels-Alder, Bromination, Grignard synthesis and Reduction/Oxidation. • Gained knowledge on NMR Spectroscopy & MS weekly to identify new compounds. • Identified over 50 different species of fish located in Louisiana by Genus species while observing the different morphological features. • Marked out and researched Water Oak species in Tangipahoa park. • Developed great knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access.
