NEPA Regulations Specialist NOAA Office of Program, Planning and Integration (PPI) Silver Spring, MD I.M. Systems Group, Inc. (IMSG) www.imsg.com is looking to hire 2 NEPA Regulations Specialists to work at the PPI staff office located in Silver Spring, Maryland. The NEPA Regulations Specialists will assist the NOAA NEPA Coordinator, who is responsible for NEPA compliance for NOAA, to review and comment on EISs and EAs to ensure NEPA compliance. Responsibilities: • Review and comment on NOAA EAs and EISs to ensure agency compliance with NEPA, • Evaluate NOAA NEPA EA and EIS documents for final clearance by the NOAA NEPA Coordinator, • Help PPI NEPA staff respond to agency inquiries regarding NEPA compliance and documentation, • Assist with the revision of NOAA Administrative Order 216-6, • Assist with NEPA training, and • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Requirements: • NEPA Regulations Specialists must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited university in a related field. Additional applicable degrees or professional experience will be considered. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential. • Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of NEPA, and should have a working understanding of other environmental laws including the Endangered Species Act, Marine Mammal Protection Act, National Marine Sanctuaries Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Coastal Zone Management Act, and Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act. • Environmental policy experience is highly desirable.
