The PEARL is an internationally recognized research and education institution that is a national leader in the education of underrepresented students in the marine sciences and committed to providing state of the art information for better environmental management decision making.
The Environmental Education Specialist will be responsible for initiating and implementing education programs in association with the Morgan State University Oyster Hatchery and the Matthew Henson Earth Conservation Center. This position is full time temporary (initially nine months) with opportunity for extension. This position is based in Saint Leonard, Maryland.
Salary: $35,000-45,000 with no benefits

Requirements:
Job responsibilities include:

Developing and conducting an education program in accordance with the tasks and goals of the Morgan State University Oyster Hatchery and the Matthew Henson Earth Conservation Center.

Assist with developing an aquaculture technician education program at the local community college.

Assist in developing an education program for Oysters Inc. oyster hatchery.

Realize new funding sources for starting new programs and sustaining newly implemented programs.
Requirements for the position include:

Master’s degree in Environmental Science Education or a complementary field.

Experience developing STEM curriculum and programs.
-
Experience working across multiple organizations.
-
Experience formulating partnerships.
-
Strong oral and written communication skills including grant writing skills.

Ability to manage budgets.
