Title: IT Applications Software Specialist (17-916) Location: Seattle, Washington (98115) Anticipated Start Date: September 18, 2017 Position Type: Full Year (12 months or more), Salary/ Exempt Benefits Eligible: Yes | www.psmfc.org/benefits Salary Target: $85,000 - 89,500 annually Job Number: 17-916 How to Apply: Online at www.psmfc.org/careers Closing Date: August 31, 2017 at 9pm PT This position will be to join a cadre of Oracle Application developers at the Alaska Fisheries Science Center in Seattle, Washington, developing advanced application systems and data modeling in a collaborative team and project based environment. The opportunity for additional project opportunities may become available. The project tasking will entail data modeling on Oracle databases, APEX application development, and development of Java and Java Script libraries. The mission of the North Pacific Halibut and Groundfish Observer program is to provide the scientists and fisheries managers with fishery catch and effort statistics, biological specimens and other data enabling modeling of target fishery populations and the efficient and effective prosecution of commercial fisheries in the North Pacific. Requirements:
Minimum Qualification Requirements: Candidates must present one year of Specialized Experience** which demonstrates: • Knowledge of the customary approaches, techniques, and requirements appropriate to systems and applications software design and development; • Knowledge of planning sequences necessary to accomplish assignments where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls; and • Adaptation of guidelines or precedents to the needs of the assignment. ***The Specialized Experience must equip the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, the Specialized Experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower level in the normal line of progression position. Additional Requirements Include: • Knowledge of Oracle Application Express (APEX) with Oracle Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL), JAVA, JavaScript, extensible Markup Language (XML), Dynamic Actions, and Plug-Ins • Knowledge of Use Case, ERD (Entity Relationship Diagrams) and other logical and physical modeling tools (Oracle Designer, Oracle Developer, Oracle SQL Developer) • Knowledge of generally accepted application development life cycle and metadata standards and processes, including the creation and publication of FGDC or ISO metadata records. ______________________________________ Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission is an Affirmative Action (AA) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
