This position is to work closely with the project manager to develop a robust data model and an APEX application which implements the tracking of fish from an observer at sea to the receipt, analysis and disposal of the specimen at the Alaska Fisheries Science Center. A robust understanding of Oracle relational databases and the APEX application development framework is required. The opportunity for additional project work may become available. Requirements:
Minimum Qualification Requirements: Candidates must present one year of Specialized Experience** which demonstrates: • Knowledge of the customary approaches, techniques, and requirements appropriate to systems and applications software design and development; • Knowledge of planning sequences necessary to accomplish assignments where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls; and • Adaptation of guidelines or precedents to the needs of the assignment. ***The Specialized Experience must equip the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, the Specialized Experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower level in the normal line of progression position. Additional Requirements Include: • Knowledge of Oracle Application Express (APEX) with Oracle Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL), JAVA, JavaScript, extensible Markup Language (XML), Dynamic Actions, and Plug-Ins • Knowledge of Use Case, ERD (Entity Relationship Diagrams) and other logical and physical modeling tools (Oracle Designer, Oracle Developer, Oracle SQL Developer) • Knowledge of generally accepted application development life cycle and metadata standards and processes, including the creation and publication of FGDC or ISO metadata records. ______________________________________ Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission is an Affirmative Action (AA) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
