Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. is the largest diving contractor on the West Coast, based out of Seattle, WA, a leading provider of marine construction and infrastructure support services in the United States, and an internationally recognized casualty responder. We are currently seeking a ROV Technician to join our team in Seattle, WA. The ROV Technician is responsible for providing ROV operational and safety support to the PNW ROV operations and maintaining ROV's proper working order. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: General Duties: Provide assistance with the operational and safety performance of the ROV fleet Provide ROV operational support to the PNW Region and specific ROV projects Monitor and report on ROV system technical performance Participate in ROV mobilizations and demobilizations where appropriate Attend project meetings as required Attend safety briefings to clients, vessel crew, and ROV team Understand and review emergency situation role Ensure all work activities undertaken are carried out in accordance with company policies and standards Report all hazard observations, incidents, and near misses as required by company procedures ROV Administration: Ensure all technical, operational, and safety documentation is updated and maintained Maintain regional underwater video systems as needed Ensure planned and preventative maintenance activities are carried out Other duties as required Qualifications Education High School diploma Experience 1+ years experience with electronics or ROV systems Knowledge/Skills Previous experience working with: Diesel and gas engines Hydraulics (new builds, trouble shooting and repairs) Electrical (AC and DC power supplies and control circuits) Quincy Air Compressors Pneumatic and hydraulic tools Familiarity with computers and MS Office Suite Must have verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with internal and external clients Ability to work with a team and independently Current driver's license and acceptable driving record Current GDS mandatory training and other required programs Read, understand and comply with all employer's policies and applicable governmental regulations, as they relate to their qualifications or performance while engaging in company operations. Technical understanding with all modes of diving (air, mixed gas & saturation) Ability to proactively identify issues and offer solutions Physical / Mental Requirements Ability to lift 25-50lbs. Must be able to with stand the following for up to 8-12 hours per day in all weather conditions (Sun, Rain, Sleet and Snow): stand, walk, push pull, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, climb stairs and ladders; repetitive reaching, repetitive hand use. Ability to meet DOT, ADCI, USCG, or HAZMAT Physical & additional fitness ability requirements for the position in which you are filling.
