The Assistant Manager for Visitor Services manages the frontline operation for the Birch Aquarium. The Birch Aquarium is open all year long and is only closed Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Day. The position is responsible for providing services to guests and support to the rest of the department. Provide direct supervision of the Education schedulers. Create and manage education program scheduling, monthly financial reports, monthly program attendance comparisons, and school program invoicing and scholarship awards, using the Convergence, the eticketing management program. Provides work direction duties for the unit which includes coordinating the various needs of the office, work direction to ticket booth cashiers, cash handling functions, Group Sales, Aquarium Membership Program program, coordinates the operation of the Splash!Cafe with the cafe supervisor and staff, and provides visitor care in emergencies and resolves security issues as needed.
Responsible for weekend, holiday, and vacation coverage duties for the Visitor Services unit. Prepares the daily Cash Recaps for Admissions/Visitor Services, Splash!Cafe, and Aquarium Gift shop. Prepares unit daily deposits to Central Cashier office. Prepares and analyzes daily reports. Collects and verifies daily cash drawers for Admission, Visitor Services, and Aquarium Membership Program. Collects, verifies and reconciles daily cash deposits of Admission/Visitor Services and Aquarium Membership Program Society. Collects cash deposits from the Education unit, Aquarium's Gift Shop and the Splash!Cafe. Understands and follows the guidelines in BUS #49, "Cashiering Responsibilities and Guidelines" for all cash handling operations. Responsible for coordinating event activities for the Aquarium Membership Program. Oversees and sells Aquarium Memberships and enters information into Millennium database. Maintains and coordinates the Smart Destination consignment program, ensuring adequate inventory levels, and reporting responsibilities.
