Description:

Broadreach is a leader in experiential programs abroad for middle school through college aged students. Over the past twenty years, more than 17,000 students have travelled with Broadreach to over 40 countries. Our mission is to challenge students to broaden their perspectives through new experiences and environments, to inspire them to develop lifelong skills, to discover and explore their passions, and to empower them to reach beyond self-imposed limitations and take charge of their future. Our program leaders inspire students each day, foster personal growth and cultivate leadership development. Broadreach instructors prioritize safety and are energetic role models who excel in building meaningful relationships with their students. Leading a Broadreach program is a fun, rewarding, and demanding position. Marine Science Instructors teach a college level course to high school or college students in the Bahamas, Curacao, the Leeward Islands, Italy, South Africa, or Southeast Asia. Programs can be mentally and physically demanding for students and instructors which makes maintaining a positive attitude key. Programs are limited to 12 students and led by two to three instructors to manage everything from delivering course content to leading onshore activities and more. In addition to teaching the curriculum, Marine Science Instructors work with their co-leader to supervise students 24/7, facilitate group dynamics, lead games and community service activities, and other program tasks. Flexibility, teamwork, the ability to multi-task, and provide a fun, positive and cohesive community are all important requirements.
