Description:

Job summary The Sleepover Program Supervisor works closely with the Assistant Manager of Specialty Programs and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Aquarium's Sleepover Program. This position hires and supervises staff and volunteers, oversees all aspects of program logistics and develops activities for sleepovers. The Sleepover Programs Supervisor has direct supervision of guests, staff and volunteers overnight during these events. This position will also deliver programs and tours during both daytime and evening hours. Core Responsibilities Responsible for the scheduling and programming of the year-round sleepovers, including supervision and coordination of special groups, weekday and special holiday sleepovers Training and supervision of on-call employees and teen and adult volunteers who deliver educational programming and offer logistical support Overnight supervision of guests, on-call employees and volunteers during sleepovers Serve as a liaison between Guest Experience and other departments in the scheduling and implementation of sleepovers Ensure that all marketing materials for Sleepovers including print, web and onsite monitors are up to date and assist with new ways to increase participation in Sleepovers Work with the Manager of Public Programs and Sales Department to ensure participation goals are met Provide daily program support by delivering feeding narrations, auditorium programs, tours or other public programs Provide support delivering programming an non-sleepover evening events as needed Provide superlative guest experience through supporting the Operations team with daily support on the floor


Requirements:

Absolutely Required Skills / Knowledge / Ability / Experience or Education Bachelor's degree in a theatre, natural science or education related field or a combination of related education and work experience. Two years supervisory experience-ideally in an educational, museum or camp Two years' experience delivering educational, theatrical or related programming in an informal setting. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver educational programs in a fun, scientifically accurate and engaging manner. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with a variety of types of professionals, interns and volunteers of various ages. Must be self-directed with ability to make independent decisions. Must be highly organized, reliable and self-motivated. Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays. Interest and enthusiasm in providing exemplary service to Aquarium guests. Desired Skills / Knowledge / Ability / Experience or Education Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience in creating work and program schedules with precision and accuracy Prior experience with program and activity development Strong background in local marine science and education, with a demonstrated ability to apply concepts in educational settings Fluency in Spanish is a plus Ancillary Responsibilities Experience work planning Experience strategizing program development for sleepover programs
