Title: Fisheries Technician 1- Ten Mile River Electrofishing (19-1139) Location: Fort Bragg, CA (95437) Anticipated Start Date: August 1, 2019 Position Type: Temporary (6 months or less), Hourly/Non-Exempt Benefits Eligible: No | www.psmfc.org/benefits Salary Target: $15.00-$16.00/hour Job Number: 19-1139 How to Apply: Online at www.psmfc.org/careers Closing Date: July 5, 2019 at Midnight PST Position/Project Specifics: Ten Mile River watershed and PIT tagging juvenile salmonids. Additional duties may include spawning ground surveys, habitat surveys, and PIT tag array construction and maintenance. We are looking for individuals who are focused and detail oriented and will follow strict field and safety protocols. These people need to be able to hike up to 8 miles a day in rough terrain, lift up to 50 lbs and perform strenuous field work, and orient themselves using topographic maps and GPS units. We are looking for team players, people who will maintain positive attitudes and demonstrate good interpersonal skills throughout the season. The anticipated start date for this position is early August and it will continue through the end of November. There is a possibility the position could end earlier than anticipated depending on river conditions. ** This position requires a valid driver's license and all offers of employment will be contingent upon passing a driving record check. **


Requirements:

A range of experience and education may be presented. At the lower end of the range, candidates must present six months of General Experience* OR one year of education above the high school level that included at least six semester hours in any combination of scientific or technical courses. An equivalent combination of experience and education is also qualifying. At the upper end of the range, candidates must present one year of Specialized Experience** OR a 4-year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with a major or at least 24 semester hours of coursework in any combination of scientific or technical courses. An equivalent combination of experience and education is also qualifying. *General Experience is (1) any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with biological sciences or the processes of the biological sciences. **Specialized Experience is experience that equips the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position being filled.
