Description:

Triton Systems Inc is seeking an Ocean Systems Engineer with an interest in innovative ocean systems research and development and a desire to create exciting new technologies. Triton's diverse set of projects will give you experience across the ocean engineering spectrum and allow you to shine in a fast-paced environment. Our projects involve sonobuoys, towed arrays, subsea electronics and sensors, seabed systems, submarine systems, fiber optics, ocean acoustics, and subsea energy harvesting. Responsibilities: As a systems engineer, serve both as an individual contributor and lead a project team, including subcontractors Take ownership of project success and maintain customer relationship Develop technology development roadmaps and transition plans for projects Recognize and creatively solve complex problems Identify and manage project schedules and risks Design and prototype cutting edge systems including CAD (e.g. Solidworks, Altium) Perform experiments in an independent & inventive manner Document project progress


Requirements:

Desired qualifications would include some of the following: DoD R&D systems engineering or project management experience Experience designing systems for submarines, or other subsea systems Experience with mechanical design of fiber optic systems Experience with directed energy or high energy laser engineering Experience with marine robotic systems design and prototyping Experience developing and implementing control systems Experience with sonar design and signal processing techniques Experience with transducer design Experience conducting in-water or at-sea testing Competency using CAD and basic machine shop equipment Experience conducting analysis of alternatives and technology review Experience with COMSOL, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Solidworks, Altium, etc. Experience in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis Experience writing technical proposals Education/Experience: - BS/MS/Ph.D. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Ocean Engineering or related engineering field. Advanced degree is a plus. - 5 years experience
