The Technical Services group at the University of Rhode Island will hire an entry level oceanographic ship's technician to support science missions aboard the 185 foot research vessel R/V ENDEAVOR. This is a full time, career opportunity with good pay, great benefits and an exciting work environment. Interested candidates should demonstrate a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in technology, understanding how things work and troubleshooting.. This position will provide extensive training and a work environment that will strongly encourage and facilitate the development of the successful candidate's technical abilities. The R/V ENDEAVOR will be retired and replaced by the 199 foot R/V RESOLUTION which is currently under construction. The successful candidate will be heavily involved with the outfitting, science trials, and finally, scientific missions aboard this brand new, state of the art oceanographic research vessel.
