Description:

Blue Robotics is seeking a mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering student for a summer internship in our production department. As an intern in the production department, you will work with a small team of engineers tasked with solving manufacturing and production challenges. This internship is perfect for an engineering student who wants to see their work have an impact. We will match you to projects based on your experience, area of interest and availability, get you up to speed on our conventions and nomenclature, and then be available to support you as you devise the solution. The goal will be for you to own the projects from end to end. The start date and schedule of the internship is flexible, but we are looking for students who can commit 30 to 40 hours per week for a 10 to 12 week period. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Designing, building, and testing jigs and fixtures - Writing and updating production instructions - Creating and updating CAD files and drawings - Assisting with production line set-up and modifications - Assisting with automating / mechanizing production processes - Identifying opportunities for process improvement


Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Proficiency in 3D CAD software, we use SolidWorks - Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's Engineering degree PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience using and troubleshooting 3D printers - Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment - Experience using microcontrollers, we use various Arduinos - Process mapping experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds
