About SEA -
SEA is a non-profit educational institution and an internationally recognized leader in undergraduate ocean education. Since 1971, SEA has educated undergraduates about the world’s oceans through its Boston University accredited study abroad program, SEA Semester®. SEA is based on Cape Cod in the oceanographic research community of Woods Hole, and owns and operates two sailing research vessels: the SSV Corwith Cramer, in the Atlantic Ocean, and the SSV Robert C. Seamans, in the Pacific.
Position Summary -
The successful candidate will possess the desire and ability to cultivate and foster relationships with a wide variety of faculty, staff, and administrators at existing and potential SEA Semester sending institutions. He/She will act as the central academic ambassador for SEA, actively engaging with academic constituents through travel and communications. He/She will oversee the creation and maintenance of all affiliation and partnership agreements; advertise, coordinate, and participate in semiannual Colleague Voyages; assist in the development of faculty-led collaborative programs; and promote other opportunities for academic collaboration with SEA. He/She will also work with the Academic Dean to coordinate and facilitate annual Academic Advisory Board meetings and periodic external academic reviews. The Assistant/Associate Dean reports to the Academic Dean and the Dean of Admissions & Marketing, and works closely and collaboratively with the SEA faculty and Office of Admissions staff.

Qualifications -
This position requires a Masters or similar advanced degree in higher education or a discipline related to SEA. A Ph.D. is preferred. It also requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in an academic setting. In addition to exceptional communication and relationship building skills, the successful candidate must be willing and able to travel extensively during the academic year.
