Description:

The Huntsman Marine Science Centre is accepting applications for Internships for 2017. There are internship opportunities available in all departments including the Fundy Discovery Aquarium, Aquatic Services, Atlantic Reference Centre, Education and Bird Banding.  Anyone with an interest in Huntsman and its projects is encouraged to apply. Applicants must be 18 years of age and available for a minimum stay of one month. Successful applicants will receive free accommodation in one of the Huntsman’s shared cottages on the upper campus.

 

Internship Opportunities at the Huntsman: 

·  Aquaculture technician; animal husbandry, system design and maintenance; laboratory sampling and data recording

·  Microbiological technician: media preparation, diagnostics of aquatic bacteria and parasites

·  Aquarist assistant 

·  Aquarium interpreter 

·  Taxonomist lab technician: processing of benthic invertebrates samples, taxonomic training

·  Atlantic Reference Centre collections assistant: curation of marine scientific collections, collection documentation, taxonomic training

·  Teacher practicum 

·  Teacher professional development 

·  Bird banding technician 

·  Food service assistant training
